The living well journey

A 40-Week Healing, Growth, and Spiritual Journey

Yoga, nature, and contemplative practices offer the maps.
The life you create is the adventure.

With deep gratitude and joy, we are delighted to invite you into The Living Well Journey—a collaborative offering from Roots & Wings Yoga Wellness and Opt2Liv.

The Living Well Journey is a 40-week journey of healing, personal growth, and spiritual discovery inspired by the wisdom of yoga, nature, science, and contemplative practice.

We live in a fast-paced culture overflowing with information, yet many of us still feel that something essential is missing.

What we seek cannot be found on the internet—or even in books alone. It must be experienced, practiced, and lived.

Together, your guides—Kim Carlson, Eric Banter, and Dr. Amy Banter—bring decades of combined experience teaching, guiding, and supporting thousands of people. Through this work, we have come to understand that a life well lived is rooted in a few essential qualities:

Connection & Belonging
Contentment & Peace
Love & Compassion
Presence & Purpose

The Living Well Journey is an invitation to slow down, remember what truly nourishes you, and enter into a deeper, more intentional relationship with your life—one rooted in greater peace, love, purpose, and joy while honoring the full spectrum of being human.

Over 40 weeks, we will allow the wisdom of nature to guide us through the four seasons and their cycles of release, rest, renewal, and flourishing. Along the way, we will learn to live in greater harmony with our own ever-changing nature and become more attuned to the season of life we are experiencing.

A Journey Through Four Seasons

Each season offers 10 weeks to explore nourishing yoga and spiritual practices in harmony with the rhythms of Mother Earth. Each carries its own wisdom, invitations, and practices—helping us deepen our relationship with ourselves, one another, the natural world, and the sacred presence woven through all of life.

Autumn — Awareness: Feeling what is present

Winter — Acceptance: Listening within

Spring — Illumination: Seeing with fresh perspective

Summer — Embodiment: Savoring and sharing the fullness of life

Through this seasonal movement, we will cultivate and embody the qualities at the heart of a life well lived.

Who Is This For?

This journey is for anyone ready to deepen their relationship with yoga, contemplative practice, and the sacred work of being human.

No prior training is required. Whether you are new to yoga or have completed 1,000+ hours of study, you will be met exactly where you are. You do not need to be a yoga teacher—or wish to become one—to participate. Come with a curious spirit, a beginner’s mind, and an open heart.

If you have participated in one of our previous trainings, this experience will feel both familiar and entirely new. You will recognize the community, sacred space, meaningful conversation, and depth of practice you have loved—while discovering and integrating a new layer of wisdom and growth.

If you long to slow down, engage in nourishing experiences, reflect on what truly matters, deepen your relationship with the sacred, and integrate what you discover into a life well lived—this journey is for you.

The Questions That Guide Us

There are universal questions we all ask:

Who am I?
Why am I here?
How can I meet and integrate the full spectrum of feelings and experiences that life asks me to hold?
How do I create a life of greater peace, love, and joy?

Bringing yoga and contemplative practices together creates a powerful alchemy—one that can support healing, awaken the spirit, and help us live with greater meaning, contentment, and joy.

Our Rhythm

Weekly Gatherings
Wednesdays, 10:30 AM-2:30 PM

Each Wednesday offers spacious time for learning, experience, and connection, including:

  • Teachings and reflections drawn from yoga, science, nature, and the wisdom of the world’s mystics

  • Guided contemplative and embodied practices

  • Creative exploration and personal reflection

  • Meaningful conversation within a community of fellow seekers

  • Practices to carry into daily life

Seasonal Immersions

  • November 6–8, 2026

  • January 22–24, 2027

  • March 12–14, 2027

  • June 11–13, 2027

We will gather for four weekend immersions—one within each season—offering extended time to deepen into the teachings and integrate what we are learning through experience.

Participants will have opportunities to curate portions of each weekend according to their individual interests and areas of study. Those pursuing yoga teacher certification will also have dedicated time to develop, practice, and refine their teaching skills.

Optional Gethsemani Silent Retreat

  • December 4–6, 2026

Participants will also be invited to join our annual silent retreat at the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky—an opportunity to step away from the noise of daily life and enter into an extended period of stillness, contemplation, and renewal.

Through this sustained rhythm of weekly gatherings, seasonal immersions, and contemplative experience, the teachings move beyond something we simply understand and become something we embody and live.

The Journey Includes

  • Weekly four-hour gatherings

  • Four seasonal weekend immersions

  • Two Cell Wellbeing evaluations using epigenetic hair-follicle analysis

  • Four Neubie sessions—advanced neuromuscular stimulation designed to support nervous-system regulation, pain reduction, and more efficient movement

  • Four personal mentoring sessions

  • Invitation to join our optional Gethsemani silent retreat

  • Additional resources, practices, and support throughout the journey—including the creation of your own personal Living Well Field Guide, filled with observations, reflections, creative expression, and practices gathered along the way.

Total program value: $6,500+

Optional Yoga Teacher Certification

The Living Well Journey is first and foremost a personal growth and spiritual journey, open to everyone.

For those who feel called to share these teachings with others, optional 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher certification pathways will be available through additional study, mentorship, practicum work, and teaching requirements.

Certification is entirely optional. Whether you choose a teaching pathway or participate solely for your own healing and growth, you will be an integral part of the shared journey. Speak with Kim or Eric if you would like to explore the certification options.
